Major medical expenses
In case the total amount of medical expenses incurred by an individual in one month exceed a certain amount, this exceeded amount will be reimbursed by the NHI after the insured applies to the NHI authority.
When involved in an accident...
It is important to report immediately to the police and the NHI authority when involved in a traffic accident, as the NHI can cover for injuries even when inflicted by a third party. However, this coverage becomes void if the insured has accepted money from the assailant or reached an out-of-court settlement. Please ask the authorities for advice before reaching such kinds of settlement.
