Souraiken Garden

Relive the History of Onomichi
Souraiken was the second house of a prosperous merchant family of the Edo period, the Hashimoto Family. With its elaborately designed garden and teahouse, this cultural heritage is a powerful reminder of the prosperity of Onomichi's merchants.

Souraiken Garden's teahouse, “Myokian”, a copy of the “Myokian-taian” (a National Treasure in Kyoto), is a structure particularly rare in Japan and is therefore a priceless Cultural Property.
