When you looked back from JR Onomichi Station, you will see Mt. Senko-ji, 139.6 meters above sea level. Senko-ji Park spreads out from the top the mountain to the side of the mountain. You can enjoy various flowers such as 10,000 cherry blossoms (One of Japan's 100 cherry blossoms selected spots) and azaleas in spring, purple and pink wisteria in early summer. In fall, the whole park becomes even more active with the flavor of chrysanthemum because the Onomichi Chrysanthemum Flower Festival is held on there. There is also Onomichi City Museum of Art, The path of literature and Senko-ji Greenland (Playground) inside the park. You can look at the entire area of Onomichi City and the islands of the Inland Sea from an observatory at the top of the mountain. On a sunny day you can also get a distant view of mountains in Shikoku. Access: After getting off at Nagae-guchi stop in 7 minutes by bus from JR Onomichi Station, take the Senko-ji Hill Ropeway, and you will reach the top of Mt. Senko-ji in 3 minutes.
