The vaccine is effective at preventing COVID-19. We will provide information about the vaccination in Onomichi City.
Those 12 years and older who have a resident record in Onomichi city are eligible to receive the vaccine.
※Please receive the vaccine in the city where you have a resident record. However, those with extenuating circumstances, will be eligible to receive the vaccine in a municipality other than their own as exceptional cases. You may be required to apply in advance.
The vaccination vouchers were sent to eligible people in order of age. The vouchers were sent to those 65 years and older and vaccination for the elderly has begun since mid-May. The vouchers were also sent to those with pre-existing conditions and who applied for it in advance in late June. The vouchers for those under the age of 65 were sent in order of age by the end of July.

Vaccinations are conducted in two ways: group vaccinations (held at venues which Onomichi city prepares) and individual vaccinations (held at medical institutions).
The COVID-19 vaccine is free.
Note: there have been cases of scammers pretending to be municipal or health center workers and asking for money for vaccinations. We will never ask you for money for the COVID-19 vaccine or to make an appointment. If you receive any suspicious phone calls, hang up immediately and report it to the police.
You need to make an appointment in advance. You will need your vaccination voucher when you make your appointment.
Please make an appointment online or by phone after you receive a vaccination voucher.

Vaccinations can cause health problems (illness or disability). Although this is extremely rare, the risk cannot be eliminated, and a relief system has been established for this reason.
In the case of health damage as a result of the vaccine from the COVID-19 vaccine, relief (medical expenses, disability pension benefits, etc.) is also available under the Immunization Act. Please consult with the municipality where your residence is located regarding the procedures required for application.
